The Business Development Manager at Ninja Van exists to drive revenue growth and foster strategic partnerships within the new Cold Chain vertical, contributing to the company's overall mission of diversifying beyond last-mile delivery services in Singapore; responsibilities include generating new business opportunities and accounts, managing client relationships, meeting sales targets, reporting to the Head of Business Development.

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in sales activities, including lead generation, prospecting, and closing deals to meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Acquire new clients and manage relationships with existing clients to ensure satisfaction, address their needs, and identify opportunities for upselling
  • Create compelling proposals and presentations to showcase the company's products or services, tailored to meet the specific needs of clients
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, competitors, and potential opportunities for business growth.
  • Negotiate contracts with clients, ensuring terms are favourable and aligned with the company's objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as operations and marketing, to ensure successful implementation of sales strategies and deliverables.
  • Manage reporting and analysis on Cold Chain business’ performance, with sensitivity in messages crafted to suit various target audiences of different stakeholders
  • Responsible for identifying the strengths and weaknesses of team members and providing the necessary training and development opportunities. This ensures that the team has the skills and knowledge needed to excel in their roles.
  • Team development involves aligning individual and team goals with the overall objectives of the organization. This ensures that the business development team's efforts are in sync with the broader business strategy.
  • Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, logistics, or a related field
  • At least 4-5 years experience with a proven track record of success in business development roles, preferably in food-related industries, logistics, or last-mile delivery industry.
  • Sales Management Experience: Experience in sales management, including leading a team to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Industry Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the last-mile delivery sector, logistics, and supply chain operations. 
  • Market Understanding: Familiarity with the specific market conditions, trends, and competitive landscape in cold chain deliveries
  • Strong team player with experience in working with cross-functional teams, and is able to build strong relationships within and outside of the organisation
  • Strong understanding of business considerations and concepts
  • Customer obsessive approach to solutions design pre-empting needs and value creation opportunities
  • Strong knowledge and experience in backend and frontend technologies
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Self-Starter and passionate to learn new digital (or other) solutions and trends in industry
  • Demonstrate ability to structure complex problems, independently source for solutions
