Join us and become a Solution Architect! At Nortal, Solution Architects are hands-on throughout the project and will contribute to higher-level and technically challenging tasks. Solution Architects are also responsible for the delivery of the overall solution and therefore must work closely with the client stakeholders and tangential client projects or teams to their assigned solution to ensure success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Competent in presenting, explaining, and defending solutions and architecture to the client’s technical team.
  • Able to consult client’s organization with regards to integrations of the system on a technical level
  • The solution architect is responsible for providing documentation of the solution, including guidelines, conventions and descriptions of core concepts. Detailed low-level documentation may be delegated to the development team.
  • To reviews SRS documents with POs before submitting to the client.
  • Specify code quality rules, in particular regarding automating code quality checks.
  • The solution architect specifies software design patterns to be used, with documented examples and preferably proof-of-concept implementation.
  • Provide periodical high-level code reviews to check if guidelines are honored and communicate found issues to the development team
  • To track technical debt incurred by implementation and escalates concerns to the delivery manager and PM to address the issue.
  • Aligns with POs regarding prioritization of technical and feature tasks.
  • To make calculated decisions that are established as non-functional requirements. Some non-functional requirements are pre-established by contracts or agreements made with the customer, other ones are internal, including tech stack choices and specific agreements between different teams on how something is implemented.
  • Able to makes decisions based on project goals and objectives.
  • If NFRs that are pre-established (e.g. by contract) for solution architect needs to be disputed (e.g. they don’t make sense or are not in the best interest of the project goals and objectives) then the concern is escalated to the owner of the contract (project manager by default).
  • You are responsible for aligning business objectives with non-functional requirements by facilitating that POs talk directly to respective tech leads (solution architect directs POs towards a specific tech lead).
  • Conflict-resolution between non-functional requirements (solution architect or tech lead) and functional requirements (product owner or system analyst) are escalated to the project manager.
  • Manages the budget for technical activities.
  • Required Skills:

  • Java, Oracle, front-end (Angular), Spring MVC, SQL
  • Good in communication with the teams, Decision making
  • Vendor side experience is a must
  • Selling ideas (various stakeholders, not fully compliant, meeting requirements, keeping scope, security consulting), defending our positions and negotiation experience
