Position Description: Okta is hiring a Social Impact Specialist to join our growing team. You will play an important role in accelerating the impact of Okta for Good – our social impact initiative – and help drive forward our mission to strengthen the connections between people, technology and community. We are a close-knit and passionate team that serves as a bridge between Okta and our communities.

In this role, you will support the full breadth of programs across Okta for Good, including employee and community impact, product impact, and philanthropy. In particular, you will be responsible for ensuring Okta teams and employees have the information and resources they need to engage effectively with Okta for Good.

The ideal candidate is a creative and thoughtful self-starter who is passionate about inspiring others to give back. We are looking for a detail-oriented, skilled communicator who can thrive in a fast-paced environment. This person will report directly to Okta’s Vice President of Social Impact and will support other members of the team directly (including the Manager, Employee + Community Impact and Program Manager, Nonprofit Success).  

Responsibilities (What You’ll Be Doing):

  • Create tools, resources and communications for Okta employees that drive deeper, easier and more scalable engagement with Okta for Good. 
  • Draft Okta for Good content for relevant channels (Wiki, Slack, internal newsletter, blogs, presentations).
  • Respond to requests from employees and teams across the company. 
  • Support employee volunteer and giving programs.
  • Track and maintain data and campaigns in Okta for Good’s employee giving portal.
  • Create and maintain resources that enable Okta’s global field team to engage thoughtfully and effectively with nonprofit customers and prospects.
  • Be our team’s knowledge management guru, ensuring that our social impact programs have stellar documentation for internal stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative and operational support for grants management and philanthropy programs.

Required Skills/Experience (What You’ve Accomplished):

  • 3-5 years of experience in a technology company or nonprofit organization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must.
  • A passion and knack for engaging with people; looking for an enthusiastic “people person.”
  • Comfort with data, metrics, and basic financial reporting.
  • Can execute programs with impeccable attention to detail.
  • A passion for creating and sustaining connections between business, employees, and the community.
  • Resilient and able to adapt to constantly evolving circumstances.
  • Strong customer service commitment for internal and external stakeholders.

*Please note that this role will be located in San Francisco, CA and we are only open to candidates local to the Bay Area at this time.
