Manages day-to-day HR activities and independently be the primary HR point of contact for specific groups in the US . You will design, plan, train and implement human resources programs and policies. The incumbent will manage performance, employee relations and other HR issues. You thrive in constant interaction with the management team and employees and are able to foster and support a positive, employee-oriented company culture.  

What You'll Work On

  • Build strong relationships with managers and employees for assigned functional areas and works with all levels of management and staff to develop and implement solutions. Serves as a liaison for departments, Payroll, Benefits, HR Operations and Recruitment.
  • Effectively communicate HR products, services, programs and policies to management and employees.
  • Understand resource needs, skills, and local country requirements and practices. Provide HR leadership and guidance to business groups, employees, etc., including employee lifecycle, employee transitions, change management and communications.
  • Provide guidance on key staffing and promotion decisions. Involved with job creation advisement, job description reviews, selection as interview team member, and ensuring an effective transition of employees.
  • Support functional management teams in the overall view of people, including the identification and assessment of employee strengths and development opportunities; support management in the preparation of development plans to ensure employees are prepared and moved into future opportunities.
  • Provide independent guidance and direction to managers regarding performance reviews and areas such as performance management, discipline (up to and including terminations), coaching, and other employment practices. Evaluate, investigate and resolve routine to complex complaints and employee relation issues. Help resolve work related conflicts or business conduct violations. Involved in involuntary termination coordination and communications.
  • Participate in compensation evaluations for functions and identify compensation issues and work with HR and business leadership to resolve.
  • Manage and analyze HR reports and provide insights. Research and ensure policies, procedures and our practices are in compliance with legal requirements.
  • Facilitate meetings and develop and make presentations and trainings, as needed.
  • Make operational improvements in HR programs and processes.
  • Manage, train and develop direct report(s), including providing feedback, through performance reviews and development plans.
  • What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 8+ years of HR generalist experience, with some people management experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • MS/MBA and HR Certification preferred
  • Demonstrated skills in managing complex employee relations situations and investigations, coaching, training and development, etc. Ability to provide corrective feedback to others and support people problems at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated track-record in HR partnering with business, organization development, and change management.  Broad understanding of performance management, compensation and benefit programs needed.
  • Broad knowledge of international HR practices and U.S./California regulations.
  • A self-starter that has strong prioritization and critical thinking skills, makes sound judgments and decisions in a variety of responsibilities.  Ability to consistently follow-up and follow through on commitments with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Possesses strong influencing skills with all levels in an organization. Strong presentation, oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills are also required. 
  • Proven ability to operate with the big picture and anticipate future needs while being hands-on to day-to-day needs. Demonstrates skills of cooperation, innovation, and able to deal effectively with ambiguity, growth, and change. 
  • Demonstrates strong work ethic and integrity. Able to manage confidential data and be compliant with laws and regulations.   
  • Experience in medical device or similar industries, with varied work populations, preferred. 
  • Solid understanding and knowledge of Microsoft Office products including but not limited to Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Previous hands on experience working with HRIS and time management systems strongly preferred.
