The Senior Buyer Planner performs senior-level supplier management activities, including the 
planning and procurement of production and non-production materials. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities
• Procure raw and sub-contract materials and coordinate delivery schedules with suppliers to meet production schedules.
• Assist in the selection, monitoring and evaluation of suppliers based on quality, reliability,and cost.
• Interface and communicate with suppliers to ensure performance expectations and optimal business relationships. 
• Work with suppliers to understand their capacity and lead-time issues to ensure parts are set up properly in QAD.
• Work with engineers to establish a second source on single source materials.
• Monitor EE & O, analyzing and initiating steps to minimize financial and/or operations impact of carrying excess, obsolete and/or expired materials.
• Maintain internal systems to ensure compliance with quality standards (FDA, GMP, ISO).
• Review NCRs, contact supplier, handle RMA.
• Resolve invoice, packing slip and certificate of compliance issues.
• Set up ordering system for supply items. 
• Review and approve ECO’s.
• Ensure timely processing and closure of scrap / rework tickets.
• Establish inventory turns tracking system and report on a regular basis.
• Participate in new product development teams.
• Develop QAD MRP as the primary tool used for materials procurement and production scheduling
• Participate in supplier audits.
• Maintain a supplier rating system.
• Adhere to the Company’s Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures. 
• Understand relevant security, privacy and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the Company. 
• Ensure other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures. 
• Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
 
Position Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of experience as a buyer/planner, preferably in the medical device or related industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Certification in APICS and/or QAD preferred
• Excellent written verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, access, and other computer applications required

Working Conditions
• General office environment
• Business travel from 0% - 10% 
• Potential exposure to blood-borne pathogens
• Requires some lifting and moving of up to 25 pounds 
• The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms, and to use a computer, sitting for extended periods. 
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to read, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception

Annual Base Salary Range:  $91,045 to $130,000
We offer a competitive compensation package plus a benefits and equity program, when applicable.  
Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies, and work location.
