As a Distinguished Engineer in Platform Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Pinterest's engineering platform. You will lead and inspire a team of engineers to design, build, and scale cutting-edge systems as part of Pinterest’s developer platform, compute infrastructure, data platforms, core and monetization platforms. You will foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and data-driven decision-making. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving Pinterest's engineering platform which powers Pinterest’s main product and advertising stack.

What you’ll do:

  • Architect and Lead: Design and implement scalable, cutting-edge systems for Pinterest’s developer infrastructure, compute infrastructure, data platforms and the application platforms that power our all services and applications that are part of the core product and monetization offerings at Pinterest
  • Technical Leadership: Guide cross-functional teams with deep technical expertise and strategic insight. Lead projects that align engineering excellence with Pinterest’s business goals.
  • Mentorship and Collaboration: Mentor engineers, foster innovation, and promote knowledge sharing. Partner with stakeholders to deliver high-impact, data-driven solutions.
  • Optimization and Problem-Solving: Enhance platform performance and efficiency to meet the demands of a product that is used by a global audience. Address complex technical challenges with creative, forward-thinking solutions.
  • Drive Strategic Initiatives: Lead and oversee critical initiatives across platform engineering teams, and key partnerships to drive Pinterest's growth and success.
  • Explore New Opportunities: Potentially lead and shape new bets depending on the evolving needs of the business.

What we’re looking for:

  • Leadership and Vision: 10+ years of leadership experience leading full-stack, product-oriented engineering organizations. Ability to set technical direction, inspire innovation, and drive strategic initiatives that align with Pinterest's business goals.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Proven ability to identify, analyze, and solve complex technical challenges with creative and effective solutions.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of system design, data analysis, and relevant programming languages. Familiarity with industry-specific tools and technologies.
  • Adaptability and Learning: Ability to stay ahead of the curve in a rapidly evolving technological landscape and embrace continuous learning.
  • Quality and Impact: Commitment to delivering high-quality solutions that have a measurable impact on Pinterest's advertising platform and revenue growth.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent experience.
