The Sr. Communications Manager, Internal International is an entirely new position for Pinterest and the Comms team. With Pinterest’s global markets continuing to expand, it is vital to have a matched global internal comms presence. This individual will have the opportunity to build a global internal communications strategy, establish ways of working with the US headquarters to build a unified comms experience, and continue to elevate the overall global internal Pinterest leadership and employee brand.  As Pinterest grows globally, the responsibilities of this role are likely to grow as well.

 

What you’ll do:

  • Work with our Director, Internal Communications to implement a global internal communications strategy that aligns with the global business priorities, tailored to meet the needs of APAC, EMEA and LATAM operations and global employee base, while ensuring consistency with the US headquarters’ overall communications framework.
  • Act as a liaison between the international teams and the US headquarters to facilitate effective and consistent internal messaging, corporate announcements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinate with various departments across different regions to gather insights, updates, and key messages that need to be communicated internally both companywide and to particular regions.
  • Manage the creation, distribution, and evaluation of internal communication materials, such as newsletters, intranet content, emails, and videos, ensuring they are culturally and regionally appropriate.
  • Organize and support virtual and face-to-face events for our senior executives, including town halls, leadership forums, and employee engagement activities, ensuring global participation and inclusivity.
  • Stay abreast of internal communication best practices and technological advancements, incorporating innovative approaches to enhance internal engagement and collaboration.

 

What we’re looking for:

  • Strategic Thinking and Vision: The capacity to develop and implement a cohesive internal communications strategy that aligns with the company’s global objectives, taking into account different geographic regions and cultural nuances.
  • Leadership and Influence: Strong leadership skills that support the guidance and motivation of the communications team, with the ability to influence and work collaboratively across departments and levels within the organization.
  • Expertise in Communication Technologies: Familiarity with modern communication platforms and technologies that facilitate effective global communication, and the ability to innovate and adapt to new tools and trends.
  • Crisis Management Skills: Experience in handling sensitive information and managing communications during crises, ensuring clarity, consistency, and calm across all levels of the organization.
  • Exceptional Writing and Editing Skills: The ability to craft clear, engaging, and concise communication materials that resonate with a diverse, global audience.
  • Project Management Abilities: Strong organizational skills with a proven track record of managing complex projects and meeting deadlines, often coordinating across different time zones.
  • Analytical and Measurement Skills: The capability to measure the effectiveness of communication strategies and adapt based on data-driven insights.
  • Ethical Judgment and Discretion: High ethical standards and professionalism in handling confidential and sensitive information, acting as a trustworthy liaison between teams and leadership across continents.
  • Adaptability and Flexibility: Given the role involves working across time zones, flexibility in working hours and an adaptive approach to changing scenarios and needs is crucial.
  • Educational and Professional Background: A relevant degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field, along with significant experience in internal communications, preferably in a global context.
