Cloud Network Engineer II, Foundation - Seattle
Why We Have This Role
Our network is the backbone of everything we do—supporting product delivery to customers and enabling engineers to build and scale infrastructure worldwide. As we grow and maintain our cloud and hybrid data center environments, we're looking for a talented Cloud Network Engineer who excels in navigating complex, ambiguous challenges and embraces an automation-first approach. This role is essential to enhancing reliability, increasing capacity, and driving smarter, faster network performance. You'll collaborate closely with infrastructure, and security teams to ensure our global footprint remains fast, secure, and resilient.
How You’ll Find Success
- Takes initiative and thrives in ambiguity. You don’t wait for perfect instructions—you gather context, understand the goals, and dive into solving tough networking challenges.
- Brings an automation-first mindset. You look at repetitive tasks as opportunities for scripting, whether it’s using Python, Ansible, or Terraform to streamline deployments or monitoring.
- Has a deep understanding of networking fundamentals. Protocols like BGP, DNS, and TCP/IP aren’t just checkboxes—you know how to debug them at scale.
- Collaborates well across teams and time zones. You’re comfortable syncing with security engineers, and platform teams to move projects forward with clarity and momentum.
- Balances detail and big-picture thinking. You can zoom in to troubleshoot a packet drop or zoom out to design a fault-tolerant multi-region network.
- Communicates clearly and documents with precision. Whether diagramming complex routing paths or writing design docs, your output is as clean as your configs.
- Continuously improve systems and yourself. You actively seek out ways to make the network—and your own workflows—better, faster, and more reliable.
How You’ll Grow
- Gain hands-on experience with complex cloud and hybrid architectures at global scale
- Deepen your expertise in infrastructure as code, GitOps, and cloud-native networking
- Lead end-to-end network deployments and influence design decisions
- Expand your cloud networking skills across AWS and modern CDN platforms
- Grow cross-functional leadership skills by working closely with infrastructure and security teams
Things You’ll Do
- Improve network automation and visibility by designing and implementing monitoring, alerting, and deployment tools
- Deliver scalable infrastructure by supporting cloud/on-prem network growth projects across new and existing environments
- Enhance network resilience by performing root cause analysis and driving postmortem learnings into system design
- Champion best practices for Infrastructure as Code and change management processes
- Own and maintain network reliability through regular patching, configuration updates, and proactive lifecycle management of hardware and software components
- Support the team's on-call rotation, responding to incidents with urgency, driving incident resolution, and contributing to 24/7 operational excellence
- Ensure the ongoing stability and reliability of network systems by managing KTLO tasks
- Drive continuous improvement in documentation, observability, and troubleshooting workflows
- Partner across teams to support service rollouts, integrations, and performance tuning
