To continue our extraordinary growth, we are hiring a VP, Assay Development located in Billerica, MA. 

We are looking for an experienced and motivated candidate to join our Research Products team, who will lead a team of assay development scientists to develop and validate new immunoassay reagents for Quanterix's proprietary Simoa technology platforms. This individual will apply strong leadership skills and experience to build, coach, and develop teams and lead them in all immunoassay development projects across both bead and planar platforms.  The candidate is expected to have a thorough understanding of procedures and process, including assay development, assay qualification and transfer of products to operations. It is important that the candidate works well in cross-functional teams and this position requires excellent communication skills.   

What You’ll Do:

• Lead, coach, and develop team of assay development scientists
• Manage available resources to achieve timely execution of projects on the product roadmap; working with cross-functional teams to set deliverables and execute plans
• Overall responsibility for the development and launch of Quanterix bead and planar Simoa assays
• Ensure effective collaboration with operations teams to successfully transfer developed assays to manufacturing and QC
• Coordinate departmental resources and manage teams with multiple development projects simultaneously
• Accountable for product roadmap delivery, program success, and progress relative to goals and timelines

• Ensure scientifically appropriate data analysis, interpretation, and reporting

• Review and/or approve Technical Protocols, Method development and Qualification reports
• Develop and maintain good laboratory practices to govern the activities within the laboratory

• Represent Quanterix at scientific, medical, regulatory, business and other professional meetings
• Establish, maintain, and grow strategic scientific collaborations to support development of the assay pipeline.

What We’ll Expect From You:

• Entrepreneurial drive to succeed and a high degree of self-motivation
• Ph.D. in Biology, Biochemistry, or other life science such as Immunology
• 10+ years of leadership experience working in life sciences product development
• Desired experience includes immunoassay reagent development, protein analytics and assay optimization
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop teams.
• Experience with establishment of robust assay development and manufacturing procedures
• Excellent written and oral communication, collaboration and negotiation skills, with proven ability to be assertive while building productive cross-functional relationships; experience managing multiple stakeholders and resolving conflict within teams.
• Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and pay close attention to detail
• Knowledge or experience with different technology platforms is highly desired 
• Experience developing products at the reagent/instrument interface experience
