The team will be in charge of materializing the plans and projects that look promising from a business perspective, driving the company's growth and helping Rappi achieve its short and long term objectives. This is a rapid paced company, therefore, this cell should be able to quickly come up with an MVP, test it, receive feedback, restructure and iterate over again to build reliable and solid products in no time. The squad will be addressing problems all across the company, giving tracktion to projects and moving to the next challenge. 

Rappi will provide you with daily challenges in new technologies, tools, and business requirements to move the needle. 

For this purpose, we have identified the need of an Android developer. The team will be working on Rappi´s App which is available both in the App Store and Google Play Store. This person will be incharge of the development and deployment of new features for Android devices.  

Must have:

  • Android basic components (Activity, Fragment, Intent, Service, BroadcastReceiver, ContentProvider)
  • Basic UI components (mostly from Material Design)Toolbar, ViewPager, RecyclerView, CardView, Floating Action Button, Navigation Drawer, BottomBar, CoordinatorLayout
  • Build tools Gradle 
  • Most popular libraries: Androidx, Google Play Services, Retrofit,  rxJava, rxAndroid, Dagger
  • Android Architecture
  • Kotlin (must have)
  • Kotlin corutinas
  • Agile mythologies
  • Dagger 2
  • MVP/MVVM
  • Unit Test
  • Experience writing multi-threaded applications.
  • Have published one or more Android apps in the app store.

    • Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver new product features for our Android application
  • Improve engineering processes and tools to increase team effectiveness
  • Work across both technical and business focused teams to deliver value to our users
  • Review pull request of others
  • Deploy Beta versions for testing and work closely with QAs
  • Deploy final versions to Google Play Store
  • Measuring UI/App performance, especially around UI response time and network use (Fabric.io)
