As a Manager, QA, you will manage Quality Assurance professionals who work with software engineers, content developers, artists, and producers to create value for players around the world. You will be guided by Riot's Test Policies to develop the quality activities at every stage of the software development life cycle that set your teams up for success. Additionally, you will partner with your team or Product leadership and other craft leaders to arrive at more efficient solutions to everyday problems and improve delivery.
VALORANT is Riot’s take on a character-based tactical shooter. As a Manager, QA on the Competitive VALORANT team, you will help Riot lead testing and ongoing delivery of a live service AAA title, specializing in the Competitive feature system experience. You will work directly with developers and leaders to support testing activities across all disciplines to support Competitive feature development. You will also ensure the execution of all test coverage within your product space, including playtest activities, manage testing, telemetry, defect data and report regularly on product quality. You will mentor your reports on the testing activities needed to support production within the teams you support. You will report to the Director, QA for the project.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage QA professionals working across multiple teams focused on Competitive features
- Hold teams accountable for upholding quality and player impact as an essential factor in decision-making
- Partner with other craft leaders to influence craft and product decisions through quality insights and risk analysis
- Identify, recruit, interview, and hire QA professionals to help teams scale effectively with Competitive feature specialization
- Guide testing strategies throughout the software development life cycle
- Reporting on metrics using data to guide action
- Identify risks, impact, probability, and plan mitigation
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years Quality Assurance Experience with at least 2 of those leading QA teams
- 1+ year managing QA professionals
- Have experience managing QA activity in Competitive Client Features and Backend Services
- Leading teams within game development
- Experience with product development pipelines and workflows
- Experience with strategic goal setting, tactical execution
- Experience working with remote testing teams
Desired Qualifications
- Experience managing QA people and process in an embedded environment
- Experience with test automation and tooling for backend systems and services in game development
- Experience using test tools such as Swagger, SQL, Postman, and SoapUI
- Experience with Perforce and Git
- Preferred Licenses/certifications:
- I/ASTQB Foundation Level
- I/ASTQB Agile Tester or ICAgile Agile Testing (ICP-TST)
- I/ASTQB Advanced Test Manager
