As a Compensation Business Partner, you will drive forward the broad-based compensation program while ensuring Roblox's compensation is, meaningful, performance-oriented, clearly communicated, and aligned with business priorities. Acts as a subject matter expert with experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth organization. This position is important to deliver a portfolio of programs that inspire our employees to do and bring their best.

This role is based on-site at our HQ in San Mateo, CA, and reports to the Director of Compensation

You Will:

  • Be the strategic partner and creative solution provider to recruiting teams, HRBPs and department leaders by combining in-depth knowledge of compensation principles, understanding of the business and market landscape
  • Be a strategic advisor that blends an analytical approach to compensation and influences outcomes in this competitive market
  • Develop compensation strategies to support the attraction and retention of top talent while reflecting market conditions, internal equity, a pay for performance philosophy and our strategies.
  • Create a culture of analytics and monitoring of current programs to align with priorities and talent needs so that compensation is part of the proposition that can attract, engage, and retain top talent.
  • Support and advice on comp related activities: new hire offers, analysis of recruiting data trends, promotions, transfers, international employees/contractors, performance calibrations and comp.
  • Review and conduct annual benchmarking of our jobs to ensure robustness of the job matches leading to development of great compensation package ranges
  • Support the implementation of all ongoing comp programs and tools; provide proactive, deep insights to guide decision-making and continuously work with people leaders to make sound comp decisions
  • Proactively look for opportunities to improve comp programs and policies to ensure they support business strategy and help improve excellence in hiring and employee performance
  • Diagnose gaps between current and desired states and develop strategies to resolve those gaps, shaping the decision-making process and influencing partners
  • Review the current job architecture and systematic job leveling approach for the business that enables us to better support hiring, career growth, job evaluation leading to competition compensation
  • Collaborate with Finance to ensure appropriate budgets are set for compensation programs

You Have:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience with at least 5 years of corporate and/or consulting compensation experience with some exposure to technical/digital profiles, showing progression and leadership
  • Strong expertise in different compensation models, structure, and vehicles
  • Knowledge of industry trends and developments in compensation, including relevant legal issues
  • Familiarity with several different benchmarking surveys and approaches and job evaluation
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and changing priorities, prioritizing workload and performing multiple tasks
  • Experience communicating with senior executives and partners
  • Experience with Sales Compensation Design, Talent analytics and data visualization
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$197,960$231,250 USD
