As a Software Engineer in the Fleet Inventory pod within Roblox's Compute Group, you'll drive the development of our API-based asset management system and influence the evolution of Roblox's Private Cloud. In this product and engineering focused role, you'll revamp our server management across cloud and on-premise infrastructure, and aid in optimizing our extensive fleet. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager for the Machine Management layer, you'll shape the future of infrastructure management at Roblox.

You will:

  • Develop a unified inventory system to abstract cloud and on-premise infrastructure.
  • Lead the transition from existing systems to a new storage layer.
  • Create an API layer for accessing telemetry, diagnostics data, and offering business intelligence.
  • Contribute to solving the T0 data layer for the fleet, and provide business intelligence on fleet utilization and forecasting.

You have:

  • 10+ years of industry experience.
  • Leadership experience as Tech Lead.
  • Cross-functional experience delivering big projects over multiple quarters.
  • Preference for building autonomous systems over ops and repetitive tasks.
  • An understanding of the importance of documentation for large-scale systems.
  • A passion for production health and reliable, sustainable production systems.
  • No experience required in this specific area of infrastructure, but being excited about the problem space is a must.

This role has an in office requirement at least 3x per week.

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$283,780$331,640 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
