As a Principal Machine Learning Engineer, you will work on challenging problems leveraging Generative AI for content creation. In addition safety of the content produced via AI techniques and by conventional means extremely important. We are looking for engineers to lead the vision of generative AI at Roblox while ensuring a high level of civility of content and interactions on the platform.

You Have:

  • 5+ years experience in developing machine learning models, preferably in image, video, audio or 3D representations.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with deep learning frameworks such as Pytorch or TensorFlow.
  • Experience in shipping ML features in production environments, including low powered devices
  • Strong understanding of state-of-the-art deep learning network architectures and primitives.
  • Excellent cross-functional skills, partnering with organization leaders, driving to a conclusion.
  • Technical depth in one or more of the following areas: generative AI, ML applied to safety, large language models, ML applications for game content creation.
  • Experience developing ML applications for working with 3D models and familiarity with the techniques like differentiable rendering and representations like neural radiance fields.
  • Familiarity with generative AI techniques such as diffusion models and VAE.
  • Experience working on content safety problems like voice chat safety.
  • Publications in top-tier computer graphics/vision conferences is a plus

You Will:

  • Develop and implement state-of-the-art ML models
  • Work cross-functionally with product teams to integrate the ML models into Roblox
  • Mentor and guide junior team members and provide technical leadership
  • Work with data engineers to collect and preprocess large-scale datasets for model training
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research in ML and related fields, and apply this knowledge to improve the model performance
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$283,780$315,850 USD
