As an Economy Revenue & Fraud Engineer, you will maximize Roblox’s payment conversions while minimizing fraud rates. Your work will expedite the company’s rapid expansion, and safeguard billions in revenue. This high impact work and your innovation is critical for the well-being of our community and to the future of our company. We aim for our users to have a frictionless checkout experience, and have peace of mind that their communities and transactions are protected.

You will:

  • You will design and build product features, payment funnel optimizations, and data processing capabilities.
  • You will develop backend services and data processing to implement product logic, perform reporting and analytic calculations, and produce features for ML models.
  • You will build out and support mass parallel experiments, as well as ML features that defend Roblox from all types of fraud.
  • Be a Tech Lead that contributes to our Technical Roadmap and Risk Defense strategy and report directly to the Hiring Manager.
  • Occasionally perform data analysis to understand our Fraud & Abuse domain.

You have:

  • 6+ years of professional experience working with scalable, distributed systems
  • Strong experience in large-scale, data-driven architecture, API design, data modeling, and SQL / NoSQL data storage.
  • Experience with data processing technologies such as Spark, Flink, Hive, Airflow, or Kafka.
  • Passion for delivering products end-to-end, from ideation through implementation and A/B testing, while being empathetic with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's Degree or above in Computer Science or another quantitative field
For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$189,110$233,840 USD

Roles that are based in our San Mateo, CA Headquarters are in-office Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional in-office on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
