WHY USER BEHAVIOR?

Safety and Civility is Roblox's #1 priority and our mission is to protect our community. As a Senior UI/UX Engineer, you will be part of the highest priority organization at Roblox that features diverse work in product/mobile engineering, data engineering, and traditional high throughput and low latency microservices to detect issues in real-time. Our clients serve over 200M Daily Active Users and thousands of internal tools users who support our community. You will have a high impact and will directly affect our hundreds of millions of monthly users. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager within User Behavior.

You Will:

  • Work with engineers, designers, and product managers to build new safety features
  • Reduce online abuse on Roblox by working with teams across the company to advocate for safety
  • Help continue to build a great engineering culture at Roblox

You Have:

  • 6+ years of experience within cross-platform UI frameworks that deploy to multiple consumer devices such as iOS, Android, Mac, Windows, and gaming consoles
  • 6+ years of experience in software development
  • 6+ years of experience building and shipping customer-facing user interfaces
  • 6+ years of experience working on multi-person codebases, including open-source or personal projects
  • You're familiar with Lua or similar game scripting languages

  • Versatile: You are comfortable with several languages and technologies already; Take a creative and strategic approach to solving hard problems.
  • Analytical: Excited to investigate large, ambiguous problems, and measure the problems and the solutions.
  • User-Oriented: You always start with the needs of the user, whether they are Roblox users or internal engineers before architecting a solution.
  • Team-oriented: You lift up your peers and find ways to make the team stronger.
  • Interested in keeping the next generation of internet users safe and civil as they interact online

 

For roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  All full-time employees are also eligible for equity compensation and for benefits.
Annual Salary Range
$267,720$331,640 USD
