Who we're looking for:
We are seeking an International Tax Manager located in the UK or Barcelona who will be responsible for managing local compliance and U.S. GAAP reporting for our international subsidiaries along with executing international tax planning, M&A, and integration activities. This role will report directly to the Head of Tax located in the U.S. in Seattle, WA.
We are looking for a self-starter used to working with U.S.-headquartered global companies. The ideal candidate has broad exposure to Europe-wide international direct and indirect taxes with a strong technical foundation. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams as well as Rover’s external service partners. This highly visible role will provide critical support to our international expansion efforts and drive sustainable compliance as we continue to expand our global footprint.

Your Responsibilities:
Tax Provision & Accounting:Collaborate with the accounting team to lead tax review of local statutory accounts along with preparation of any tax-related accruals and disclosuresOwn U.S. GAAP tax close processes for international subsidiaries and operations, including transfer pricing, U.S. GAAP income tax provision for international subsidiaries, and other tax accrualsEnsure inter-company transactions are correctly reflected in financial systems and documentation
Tax Compliance:Ensure tax compliance and reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions are completed timely and accurately, including the tax returns, tax payment calculations, and tax forecasts; coordinating with outsourced external service providers as neededSupport the preparation of annual transfer pricing documentation (Master File, Local File) Manage tax audits, inquiries, and interactions with tax authorities for your relevant jurisdictions
Tax Planning:Manage international tax M&A activities end-to-end, providing support for tax due diligence and leading post-closing integration efforts for newly acquired companies, including back disclosures, onboarding and regularization of tax compliance, and wind down of redundant providers and operationsCollaborate with tax, finance, legal, treasury, and accounting teams in our Seattle and Barcelona offices to support day-to-day international tax mattersBe a strategic business partner by driving process efficiencies and assisting with the implementation of tax planning opportunities, quality improvements, and risk minimization processesResearch and draft tax policy memos documenting tax technical issues and positionsStay informed of routine tax law changes in relevant jurisdictions and assess potential impactsYour Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Taxation, Accounting, Finance, or EconomicsAt least 7+ years of progressive experience in public accounting and/or a company corporate tax departmentProfessional accounting qualification preferred (CPA, CA or local equivalent)Demonstrated expertise with European tax compliance, audits, and filings across multiple jurisdictions.Experience with U.S. GAAP and IFRS accounting for income taxes, preferably supporting a large multinational corporationWorking knowledge of transfer pricing and cross-border tax issuesAbility to research tax issues and interpret guidance to provide strategic advice Comfort with ambiguity and able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment while embracing change and solving problemsProven track record of executing and delivering quality results, including managing projects, working collaboratively, and distilling complex ideas into clear communications in EnglishHigh proficiency in Excel and manipulating large data setsYour Bonus Skills:
Broader global tax experience including APAC countriesExperience working with tax provision software, NetSuite and / or internally developed transactional databasesUnderstanding of marketplace / gig economy tax dynamics and requirements
