Snowflake Computing is seeking an accomplished and seasoned leader for the role of Director of Product Security. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in leading large security organizations at product companies and will be responsible for spearheading Snowflake's efforts to ensure the security, integrity, and compliance of our cloud data platform. The Director of Product Security will hold a pivotal position in defining and executing Snowflake's product security strategy, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to embed security into every facet of our product development lifecycle.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and implementation of an industry leading product security strategy and roadmap, directly aligned with Snowflake’s risk tolerance and business objectives.
  • Promote and grow our outstanding culture of security within product engineering teams & design, build and operate uniform scalable security policies and controls for our entire product surface. 
  • Work directly with C-suite to identify and manage security risks, and report program progress.
  • Collaborate directly with engineering leaders to integrate security into the product development lifecycle. We are not just “shifting left”, we are dissolving security into engineering.
  • Spearhead the build vs buy, evaluation, selection, and implementation of security tools and technologies to enhance the security posture of Snowflake’s products.
  • Oversee security architecture, engineering, vulnerability management, security incident response, threat detection, and incident response for Snowflake products, ensuring rapid and effective response to security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Lead security assessments and audits, including managing relationships with external security researchers and auditors.
  • Develop and mentor a high-performing product security team, setting clear objectives and fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of emerging security threats, technologies, and best practices, adjusting strategies accordingly.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product security, with a proven track record of leadership in designing, implementing, and managing security programs for cloud-based platforms at large product companies.
  • Strong technical background in security architecture, cryptography, network security, and application security.
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing technologies and security principles, particularly in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively engage
