Build the future of data. Join the Snowflake team.

There is only one Data Cloud. Snowflake’s founders started from scratch and designed a data platform built for the cloud that is effective, affordable, and accessible to all data users. But it didn’t stop there. They engineered Snowflake to power the Data Cloud, where thousands of organizations unlock the value of their data with near-unlimited scale, concurrency, and performance. This is our vision: a world with endless insights to tackle the challenges and opportunities of today and reveal the possibilities of tomorrow.

As the leader of the Cloud Security team, you’ll be responsible for raising the security bar across our production cloud environments. We are looking for a visionary, passionate engineering leader who will transform the way we work: building tools and services to support a highly scalable and defensible cloud infrastructure, and eliminating all sources of toil for the Security team and the engineering teams we support.

Our ideal candidate wakes up each morning thinking about ways to scale security. Their goal is to lower risk while letting the business move quickly and safely. They believe Security should be an inherent property of the tools and processes engineers use every day. They want to Automate Everything, and they relish an opportunity to apply tooling, automation, and self-service to security workflows to increase team scale and reliability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and grow the Cloud Security team to embody the "builder" mindset required to solve security challenges at scale
  • Develop tools and services to reduce toil and increase the security and reliability of our cloud infrastructure
  • Build smart provisioning systems to provide just-in-time cloud access while maintaining least-privilege
  • Hire, develop, and manage a team of security engineers while providing technical vision and direction for the team
  • Create and execute a roadmap that identifies and reduces top security risks to the organization

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years experience managing a security or software engineering team
  • Understanding of modern cloud technology components and deployment patterns: virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, serverless, infrastructure as code, etc.
  • Strong grasp of software development processes including prototyping, writing and testing code, peer reviews to maintain code quality, test and deploy pipelines, and production service monitoring
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other teams to achieve complex objectives
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience designing and implementing security services
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity, privacy, and compliance frameworks
  • Ability to write SQL queries and build dashboards, metrics, and reports to drive security outcomes
  • Have read and are capable of implementing ideas from “Site Reliability Engineering” and “Building Secure & Reliable Systems”
