JOB DESCRIPTION :

We’re looking for a Senior Commercial Operations Manager to join our growing Workload Finance team. In this role, you will support the Product Workload Finance team by owning our end-to-end Commercial Product Launch function and be responsible for translating business requirements to our operational teams (e.g., Legal, IT, Accounting, Billing, Contracts) in order to launch or update customer facing Product features. In this role, you will:

 

  • Define overall strategy and roadmap for finance projects and build consensus with business partners on progression of projects 
  • Manage program risks and develop mitigation strategies to meet the timelines and goals 
  • Establish a process to evaluate complex commercial model requests and drive change in our long term commercial and contract strategy and roadmap
  • Work with sales and deals desk leaders to proactively identify opportunities where unique pricing or monetization models can be used to improve deal velocity, increase market penetration, or improve profitability
  • Collaborate across the finance and other business partners, including Sales Operations, Product, Engineering, and IT to develop and align on project plans, status, and reporting message, along with finance resource planning needs to succeed from project scoping to project completion  
  • Track, oversee, and provide executive reporting for project progress through requirements, development, testing, and any timeline and resource impact to the projects 
  • Proactively identify gaps in business processes, systems and processes that will become major roadblocks as the company scales. Recommend new projects and initiatives to tackle those gaps
  • Build out Snowflake’s global pricing & commercial enablement program and content, partner with the field enablement team to deliver pricing content and training to our field sales team
  • Manage pricing approval process and workflow, including all business control / compliance processes, policy documents and approval evidence for internal audits / compliance review

WHAT YOU WILL NEED :

Required skills:

  • 6+ years of professional experience with a core focus in pricing, finance, sales operations, deals desk, or business operations
  • In depth knowledge of end-to-end Pricing Operations, Order to Cash and Record to Report processes and business process improvement experience  
  • Strong ability to build and maintain positive relationships with many different business partners
  • Fluency in relevant corporate finance, financial operations, commercial terms and accounting concepts - i.e., Quote-to-cash, revenue recognition rules, etc.  
  • Experience with building and maintaining business control process and designing business approval workflow
  • Working knowledge of relevant business control regulations such as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and other business processes and systems related to pricing management, quote-to-cash, principles of revenue recognition, etc.  
  • Experience with large scale project implementations with impact to end-to-end business functions and systems  
  • Ability to manage tight deadlines, prioritize workload and achieve effective results in a fast-paced, dynamic, and often ambiguous environment; effective multitasking skills are vital
  • Experience partnering with key internal functions to drive projects to completion; particularly Finance, Compliance, Legal, and IT.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor degree required, MBA preferred

Preferred skills:

  • Prior experience in management consulting with experience in business operations, growth / pricing strategy, or business control compliance / auditing is a plus
  • Experience in Accounting or Finance is a plus
  • Experience working with SQL, relational data and common BI tools a plus, but not required
  • Prior experience dealing with unique commercial structures in a high growth, B2B Software, Platform and/or IaaS company
