We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Event Industry Strategic Sourcing Analyst to join our Snowflake team. As a key player in our procurement team, you will be responsible for optimizing our sourcing and procurement processes, negotiating contracts, and strategically sourcing vendors and services to ensure the success of our events. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of the event industry. The Strategic Sourcing Analyst may also participate in cross-functional projects, help coordinate or streamline Global Procurements data, manage projects that are of high complexity and require a greater degree of strategic insight. The Event Sourcing Analyst will also train team members and help identify and document best practices. This role requires strong analytical, project management, and interpersonal skills in addition to solid business acumen. 

The ideal candidate must be comfortable working independently as well as in a team environment.  

Location Requirements: in-person in our Dublin, CA office, 3-4 Days per week. 

AS A STRATEGIC SOURCING ANALYST, EVENTS AND MARKETING PROGRAMS AT SNOWFLAKE, YOU WILL : 

  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors and suppliers in the event industry. 
  • Conduct market research to stay abreast of industry trends, pricing, and emerging technologies. 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, quality, and service levels. 
  • Ability to lead or take part in RFx events for event or marketing program sourcing efforts.
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors to secure favorable terms and conditions.
  • Monitor vendor performance and implement strategies to address any issues or improvements needed.
  • Collaborate with vendors to streamline processes and drive innovation.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising the quality and success of events.
  • Analyze and optimize costs associated with event planning, including venue rentals, catering, audiovisual services, and other related expenses.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including event planners, marketing, finance, T&E, and logistics, to understand their sourcing needs and provide strategic solutions.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align sourcing strategies with overall business objectives.
  • Be a resource for our Travel and Expense team as a liaison to small and medium event programs
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement processes.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures 
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements in vendor agreements.
  • Utilize data analysis tools to assess and report on key performance indicators, cost savings, and other relevant metrics.
  • Provide insights and recommendations based on data-driven analyses to enhance decision-making.  

OUR IDEAL STRATEGIC SOURCING ANALYST, EVENTS AND MARKETING PROGRAMS WILL HAVE : 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus. 
  • 5+ years of related sourcing experience in a high growth, dynamic environment. 
  • Proven experience as a Strategic Sourcing Analyst, preferably in the event industry. 
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain vendor relationships. 
  • Event and/or Travel Industry experience 
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, and industry regulations.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools and software.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
