Snowflake’s Workplace organization is responsible for designing and delivering programmatic features and services that reflect Snowflake’s culture to create an environment where people love to come to work, interact with their colleagues, and deliver exceptional results. We are looking for an adaptable, diligent, and process-oriented Generalist with a focus on Environmental Health, Safety and Occupational Health based in our Warsaw, Poland office . 

 

This position will be part of the Global Workplace Programs team and report to the Environmental Health Safety and Sustainability Manager. The position will divide its time between supporting the broader global programs team with administrative tasks and supporting the Environmental Health and Safety and Occupational Health programs.  The position requires an extremely organized individual who is able to multitask, and shift focus between various responsibilities.  The right individual will possess outstanding skills in collaboration, problem solving, facilities management, operations and communication. The position will require occasional reporting and presentations to other teams including management stakeholders.

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

 

  • Overall responsibility supporting the Global Workplace Programs team, with an emphasis on Environmental Health, Safety, and Occupational Health programs. 
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of EHS documents and policies including, but not limited to emergency action plans, office safety protocols, incident reports etc. 
  • Support the development and implementation of various existing and new strategies specific to EHS/Sustainability programs for our employees, customers, partners and key executives
  • Assist in recruitment and retention efforts for emergency response teams globally
  • Assist in tracking of EHS requirements 
  • Facilitate communication with EHS/Occupational health vendors globally
  • In partnership with the other Workplace teams, help determine the EHSS program needs related to projects. 
  • Assist in ergonomics programs, initiatives, and processes to ensure we are providing the best possible experience for our employees while maintaining accurate reporting as required on a site by site basis.
  • Assist in overseeing the global workplace programs in collaboration with facilities operations 
  • Engage internal resources as necessary (Workplace, HR, Legal) and external vendors to ensure timely and effective progression of projects
  • Work with vendors to ensure on-time achievement of project milestones and deliverables
  • Work with minimal supervision, under the general direction of EHS Lead.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required qualifications to effectively perform the job at the time of hire. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered. Additional requirements and/or substitutions may be requested and require the approval of the hiring manager.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Candidates must meet the following requirements or equivalent corporate experience:

 

  • Highly proficient with project management tools, Excel and the Office Suite, and at developing and delivering reports, analysis and presentations
  • Positive and “can-do” attitude, an extremely adaptable self-starter with excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent listening skills, organizational skills, and strong communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly changing priorities and demands
  • Strong work ethic, commitment to quality, and proven follow-through skills
  • Able to provide vision, solutions, education, analysis, and input for continuous growth of workplace programs.



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  

  • A combination of education, professional training and experience in the implementation of environmental health and safety programs including, but not limited to occupational health requirements 
  • Experience organizing and tracking emergency response teams and initiatives
  • Experience managing vendors including, but not limited to occupational health providers. Ability to serve as liaison between vendors and Snowflake procurement team or other internal teams as needed. 
  • Experience in employee communications and employee experience initiatives

The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.  Must be able to work at a desk/computer for extended periods of time.  Must be able to have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on computer and/or related office equipment. This position requires participating in periodic office inspections or related tasks that require walking or standing for extended periods of time and occasional ladder climbing. 

Travel up to 15% may be required.
