Position Title: Community Engagement Lead

Department: Marketing

Reports To: Brand Marketing Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt, Full-time, Benefited 

 

Position Summary:

Sonic’s Community Engagement Lead will be responsible for strategic and proactive communication with our audiences through multiple organic social channels with timely, relevant, on-brand content and messaging. This candidate is a strong writer and communicator who will craft compelling, mission-driven content that resonates with our growing audience. They will oversee a small team and interact with people to improve brand sentiment. They are responsible for monitoring/measuring social interactions, quantifying feedback, and developing strategies to elevate the Sonic brand and grow brand awareness. Sonic’s ideal candidate is curious, creative, and committed to developing powerful and engaging content for our audiences guided by Sonic’s core values, voice, and culture.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Exempt

Travel:
Limited travel (as needed) for role.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This role will eventually have direct report responsibilities

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:       

  • Own and evolve Sonic’s organic social media vision and strategy, ensuring it aligns with brand and business goals while pushing creative boundaries across all core organic social media platforms (Meta, X, LinkedIn, TikTok, Google, Yelp).
  • Define messaging and embody our brand and voice with every interaction.
  • Develop long-term content strategies for our organic profiles and provide more consistency in communications that align with Sonic’s business objectives and mission and foster trust and loyalty with our audiences.
  • Build team process and strategies for effectively managing team workload, interacting with the community, and maintaining calendar of activities and plans.
  • Lead daily execution of social monitoring, response, and listening through Social Management Platform (Sprout) for all inbound inquiries.
  • Partner with cross-departmental teams such as Technical Support, Human Resources, and Field teams to create content and reach shared business goals.
  • Stay up to date on new social media trends, channels, cultural moments, and competitor activity so that Sonic can leverage these trends and technologies. 
  • Track, analyze, and report to leadership on organic social media activity, effectiveness, and content performance.
  • Research, develop, and maintain relationships with key social media influencers in the industry.
  • Management of necessary social vendors and business partnerships as we grow and expand.

Compensation Range:  $60k-$75k annually, plus full benefits package

Education, Experience, and Skills

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Communications, or related field.

Experience:

  • 4-5+ Years of experience in Brand Management and/or social media management
  • Experience in planning and executing content strategies

Skills:

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Requires excellent customer service and impeccable written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of major social channels and trends
  • Understanding of digital marketing landscape and campaign development
  • Respectful of others and willing to learn
  • Proactive and positive with strong organizational skills
  • Some photography, video, and design skills
