SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

  • Develop performance monitoring systems, alerts, and software to track and troubleshoot antenna performance
  • Define and implement asset management policies, maintenance plans, and procedures
  • Coordinate with external suppliers/contractors for field repair service options and logistics
  • Perform onsite in-field repair and investigation for complex failures and system outages
  • Advise hardware design revisions to improve system performance and reliability
  • Identify and maintain critical spare strategy for global fleet of antennas

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, aerospace, or other engineering discipline
  • 2+ years of experience working on mechanical, electrical, and/or systems engineering projects

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Familiarity with networking hardware and concepts including fiber optics troubleshooting and best practices
  • Basic competency with SQL databases and reporting software (Tableau, Periscope, etc.)
  • Ability to analyze and review operational telemetry data to monitor system performance and triage issues accordingly
  • Self-starting and able to identify areas for improvement with minimal direction
  • Experience working in an operations or on-call environment
  • Strong project management skills, communication skills, and ability to demonstrate a high sense of urgency

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to travel up to 35% of the time to US or international ground station sites
  • Must be willing to work extended hours, on-call rotations, and weekends as needed
