MULTIBODY DYNAMICS ENGINEER

The Multibody Dynamics team is responsible for ensuring that the analysis, design, test, and flight operation of dynamics systems lead to successful completion of mission, and meet or exceed requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Resolve dynamics problems through analysis and test.
  • Create custom dynamic simulations from first principles to drive engineering decisions.
  • Drive dynamics model anchoring and improvements by planning and executing test campaigns.
  • Work closely with hardware teams to drive improvements to vehicle design.

 BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, physics, or other similar technical discipline.
  • At least 1 year of experience using engineering simulation software such as MATLAB.

 PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience with multibody dynamics modeling.
  • Experience with moving mechanisms.
  • Experience with loads analysis and structural dynamics.
  • Excellent understanding of structural mechanics and dynamics.
  • Strong abilities with MATLAB.
  • Experience with finite element modeling tools, including LS-DYNA.
  • Demonstrated ownership of broad problems from conception to execution.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing needs and requirements.
  • Communicates effectively to peers, customers, and management and has the ability to achieve buy-in.

 ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to travel for short and extended trips as needed.
  • Must be willing to work extended hours as needed.

 ITAR REQUIREMENTS:

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
