PRODUCTION CONTROL SCHEDULER (DRAGON)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide tactical and strategic long range scheduling expertise to our production teams
  • Provide daily visibility, weekly status, and monthly reviews on schedule performance
  • Coordinate and review input across teams to support and maintain nominal and Master Schedules for products using Microsoft Office or applicable software as required
  • Generate and improve process of communicating production schedule on a cadence (i.e. daily) and in the amount of detail (i.e. design/test milestones, production tooling/fixtures) that enables production, engineering, and supply chain to perform most efficient execution of plan.
  • Work across all departments to understand critical work requests ahead and behind targets to mitigate schedule impact risks globally for the Dragon build
  • Create a rate-based schedule and understand constraints across your build for the next 4-6 missions.
  • Create scenarios to determine optimal allocation and schedule impact
  • Understand MRP logic, be highly proficient in navigation of MRP screens, as well as have advanced understanding of dashboards and SQL tables/queries and use them to obtain MRP data
  • Drive MRP accuracy improvement initiatives that create better alignment between schedules and affect primary work center
  • Utilize our Factory Scheduler application and other applicable tools to ensure work is scheduled and prioritized accurately and efficiently through all swim lanes, and resources allocated appropriately
  • Prepare daily work schedules, track work progress, update and communicate project critical path schedules, and advise leadership of needed adjustments to daily work activities
  • Push/pull work into the shop to improve lead times, reduce stagnation, and meet schedule needs
  • Lead efforts to uncover root-cause and develop permanent resolution on issues found during product builds as required to eliminate internal and external blockers to deliver product on time. Drive conversations around assembly-level & integration misalignment.
  • Identify and support improvement opportunities for product yield, quality, safety, cost and team efficiency
  • Develop and support efforts to streamline assigned products and automate production processes as applicable
  • Identify automation opportunities (i.e. queries, software links) or other scheduling method improvements and implement them
  • Drive down near-term and future schedule risk by conducting work-center level capacity analysis, identifying model and communication gaps that cause schedule slips, and leading initiatives (reactive and proactive) that mitigate those risks 
  • Create and leverage metrics using SQL queries and Excel to highlight shortages and determine schedule risks

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate  
  • 2+ years of professional manufacturing scheduling or coordinating experience
  • 2+ years of practical experience using ERP/MRP systems in a production environment

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Highly organized & adaptable
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel
  • Experience writing queries with SQL
  • Familiarity with lean principles, six sigma and Kaizen concepts
  • Project management professional certification

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available for all shifts, extended hours, and/or weekends as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. unassisted
  • Must be able to stand for extended periods - 8 hours minimum
  • Nominal hours are 1st shift: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
