SR. PURCHASING PLANNER

We’re looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Sr. Purchasing Planner to join our indirect procurement team. As a Sr. Purchasing Planner, you will be responsible for purchasing and maintaining accurate supply and demand signals for a high volume of parts across several indirect purchasing categories, including ground support equipment, consumables, and spare parts.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Mitigate risk and ensure continuity of supply by constructing and executing a well-thought-out supply plan that fulfills the needs of the product on time and at low cost
  • Place purchase orders and collaborate on supplier fulfillment
  • Develop demand models specific to category/project strategies
  • Ensure data integrity and strategic alignment by working closely with suppliers, engineers, and category managers
  • Provide regular updates to internal customers and team members on project status and lead meetings including suppliers
  • Assess inventory integrity proactively, and prevent stock-outs while optimizing utilization of working capital
  • Provide contractually required forecasts to suppliers and to purchasing team members as needed for RFPs
  • Identify innovative ways to reduce supply risk while also reducing cost, by partnering both upstream and downstream
  • Serve as the point of contact for internal customers to resolve supply issues and address new demand
  • Support internal customers on implementing advanced supply chain strategies such as long-term purchases, design for manufacturing to reduce cost, and improved quality
  • Identify areas of improvement to supply or costs that may include amending contracts or category strategies
  • Analyze data derived from SQL to identify opportunities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or other technical disciplines
  • 2+ years of experience in a supply chain, purchasing, or planning function
  • Experience with ERP systems and purchasing/planning functions

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Advanced SQL and Excel experience
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with different groups and teams
  • Negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships
  • Experience with Power BI
  • Experience driving engineering improvements related to quality, logistics, and cost
  • Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated, and able to respond quickly to a fast-moving and ever-changing environment
  • Effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Critical thinking skills
