Responsibilities

Reporting to the Head of Legal, APAC based in Singapore, you will play a crucial role in supporting our legal operations across the Asia-Pacific region. You will be involved in a wide range of legal matters, including commercial and operational contracts, advertising, privacy, technology and compliance issues. This role requires a proactive, solution-oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple tasks across different timezones in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Draft, negotiate, and review a broad range of commercial agreements including master services agreements, license agreements, vendor agreements, partnership agreements and data processing agreements. 
  • Provide legal advice and support to cross-functional stakeholders on legal issues, compliance matters and applicable legal and privacy terms and negotiation strategies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of our legal processes, policies, templates, and practices, and related training, including but not limited to anti-corruption, data privacy, and intellectual property.
  • Collaborate with and support the business teams by providing clear, practical legal guidance on legal risks, business strategies, and other matters. 
  • Manage and liaise with external counsel across the APAC region as needed to ensure comprehensive legal coverage and support for Teads’ operations.  
  • Keep abreast of relevant laws and regulations affecting the industry in the APAC region, and provide timely updates and training to internal teams.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • LLB or JD qualifications from a reputable Singapore, Malaysia, Australian or UK university, and admitted to the bar in at least one legal jurisdiction.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant in-house legal and privacy experience at a regional or global technology company, particularly in commercial and technology transactions. Previous or current in-house experience in one or more of the following industries is required: software, PaaS, SaaS, ICT or data-related services.
  • Familiarity with application of data privacy regulations to technology-related transactions in Asia Pacific.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-house experience in the media and advertising industry is ideal. 
  • Knowledge and experience in some or all of the following: advertising regulations, information technology, corporate and finance law, corporate governance and compliance and/or intellectual property.
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to drill into complex legal issues and make value-adding recommendations to senior management.
  • Adaptable, and a master at prioritizing and time management.
  • Natural collaborator and a team player.
  • Proficiency in another language (written and spoken) within Asia Pacific.
