Learning Design & Development (LDD) at Udemy

You will primarily be responsible for leading the team designing Cohort Learning experiences and content for our Udemy Business portfolio. You will also represent the learning team in M & A  integration efforts and learning pilots with potential partners. You will work across LDD to provide input on both external and internal design solutions, ensuring we are creating a portfolio of best practices from both instructors and customers to leverage at Udemy while also sharing what works internally to our customers. You will also work across the organization, primarily with our Sales and Marketing teams to ensure we are identifying the most innovative solutions for our customers.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Leading and scaling our cohort learning team, ensuring a successful integration and scaling of CorpU processes/standards, design approach, and next level of cohort learning in partnership with the content strategy and Udemy Business teams 
  • Leading our Content Development Team for Udemy Business courses focused on skill development and also partnering with our instructors to ensure we are meeting and getting ahead of their needs. 
  • Providing learning leadership to M & A  integration efforts and learning pilots in partnership with the business and the People Programs team. 
  • In partnership with the Learning Science team, collaborating broadly across the organization, using customer experience & enterprise data/insights, as well as industry and learning design expertise to inform recommendations and approaches to Product, Sales and Customer Success teams
  • Provide instructional design input to internal learning solutions and experiences, leveraging customer best practices as well as experimenting with new ideas to take back to our customers. 
  • We’re Excited About You Because You Have:

  • 12-15 years of experience working in a global L&D/talent development function including building a comprehensive L&D portfolio through a combination of buy and build recommendations & solutions 
  • 7-10 years of people/team leadership experience, with an ability to traverse between strategy, driving team performance, and hands-on execution
  • Experience developing and scaling custom enterprise learning programs spanning audiences from new hires, individual contributors, and management leader/executive development 
  • Ability to evaluate and select foundational/core and supportive technology stacks including eLearning content authoring tools, learning-studio hardware, learning management systems, modern learning experience/aggregator platforms, and ability to work with multiple content partners on cloud/data integrations supporting centralized organizational insights 
  • Experience partnering with market leading B2B ed tech companies on both content and program needs, as well as strategy/assessment/consulting opportunities
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Educational Technology or similar strongly preferred
  • Strong market acumen within Ed Tech including broad understanding of learning content providers, and modern learning technology, learning management and learning experience platforms 
  • Skilled in influencing stakeholders, driving alignment across functions, and building/managing a high-performing team
  • Deep customer-centricity through metrics, analytics, and insights; gets to know the detailed customer experience continuum across key business lines to ensure Udemy learning resources are effectively deployed, and leverages customer/business insights to inform learning design/development efforts 
  • Experience leading and working with globally distributed team across multiple business functions and regions as well as local/regional partners to contextualize programs and content for local markets
