Accounting & Reporting Manager, Europe

Our Accounting team is responsible for the core financial processes and systems that run Wayfair. Finance at Wayfair is tasked with delivering clean, accurate and fast financial information in a way that maximizes our business impact efficiently. We own the accuracy, structuring and availability of the financial data that powers Wayfair's data-driven and cost-conscious culture.

We are recruiting an Accounting & Reporting Manager, Europe to support the Senior Finance Manager and Accounting team in executing US GAAP, statutory and tax accounting and reporting for the European entities. You’ll be working as part of a committed Accounting & Tax Team to ensure accurate and timely compliance reporting.  

 

Who you are:
We’re looking for somebody ambitious to adapt and grow in their career, who can collaborate effectively with their immediate team and our wider Finance organisation. You will be a qualified accountant with Big 4 experience and have worked in a multinational organization. You will enjoy working as part of an international team and  multicultural environment, and be adept in effectively communicating with a range of people and teams. 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Ensuring adherence of processes to company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations; support strengthening of financial processes and controls.
  • Preparation of the monthly reconciliations for US GAAP and statutory financial reporting 
  • Providing accounting and financial analysis to senior management and other stakeholders as necessary
  • Identification and analysis of all material profit and loss accounts 
  • Bring an analytical mindset to current processes and drive forward continuous improvement
  • Work closely with Finance Engineers to improve automation of financial reporting processes
  • Drive continuous improvement across functional areas
  • Participate in local, regional and global projects, as required.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes in all the different jurisdictions Wayfair operates in.

 

 

What you’ll need:

  • Qualification in Accounting 2+ years post qualification experience in a similar role related to accounting, reporting or audit required.
  • Experience of international accounting and reporting requirements US GAAP.
  • Thorough understanding of financial control requirements, such as SOX 404 requirements in the US.
  • Experience in managing direct reports is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to operate and influence at management level.
  • Change agent who consistently challenges the status quo and drives improvements to processes, controls and systems.
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills; fluent in English, written and verbal.
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Comfortable managing and analysing large volumes of data
