Associate Director, Fulfilment Optimization 

 

The North America/EU Supply Chain team is hiring a high-performing Operations leader experienced in designing customer solutions and driving complex, cross-functional initiatives to achieve meaningful impact. This is a unique opportunity to help develop a one-of-a-kind and industry-leading capability to optimize fulfilment in Wayfair’s sophisticated and complex supply chain. As Associate Director of Fulfilment Optimization, you will shape the future of Wayfair’s systems and processes that improve speed and drive cost improvements. Your work will enable the commercial success of Wayfair by delighting our customers and unlocking loyalty and lifetime value. In this role, you will work closely with multiple cross functional teams at Wayfair, including Supply Chain, Partner Operations, Technology, and Service.

 

Being in this role means you enjoy identifying problems and driving cross-functional efforts to solve them and get results. Strong communication is critical for your success given you will interact with several functions and teams at Wayfair and frequently engage in dialogue with Wayfair leaders. You are an effective business leader and bring a data-driven approach to managing business performance. You enjoy getting your hands dirty by getting immersed in day-to-day activities, but also have the ability to zoom out and develop a strategic vision for the business. You have top-tier analytical capabilities, deep interest in operational improvement, an ability to build lasting outcomes (people, process, technology), and incredible collaboration skills.

 

What you’ll do:

 

  • Unlock speed and reliability: Develop a thorough understanding of Wayfair’s supply chain to ensure we provide speedy and reliable delivery experience to the customer
  • Identify improvement opportunities: Use Wayfair data and customer insights to identify new opportunities/areas for optimizing order fulfilment
  • Develop business metrics: Define and develop key metrics of business success and levers to drive them
  • Engage and influence stakeholders: Influence cross-functional teams of stakeholders in a matrix organization with ownership divided across specialized team which requires understanding, influencing, and motivating many different teams and individuals
  • Communicate effectively: Effectively communicate with senior leaders, and facilitate difficult data-driven conversations

 

What You´ll Need

 

  • 8+ years of relevant experience in management consulting, high-growth retail, e-commerce, technology or similar industries
  • Proven track record of leadership, taking ownership, and driving results
  • Highly analytical mindset with proven ability to move from analyses to impact
  • Strong leadership, executive presence, organizational agility, ability to impact and influence cross-functional teams across the company
  • Strong executive communication, both presenting and preparing readouts for senior audiences
  • Ability to multi-task and thrive in a high growth, entrepreneurial, and ambiguous environment
  • Comfort in technology-driven business environment
  • Familiarity with supply chain operations, logistics, or home-related industries is a plus
