As the Associate Director - Profit Management for the UK market you will be responsible for driving growth and profit by controlling Wayfair’s pricing and product exposure algorithms to manage the delicate tradeoff between short and long term profitability. You and your team serve as a centralizing force across marketing, finance, logistics, product and merchandising to manage our day to day business performance.  This puts you in a very influential position to drive the P&L of our rapidly expanding businesses, including very frequent exposure to the senior leadership team.

What You'll Do

  • Lead the Profit Management team for the UK market. You are end to end responsible to manage profitability of a >1B, fast growing business
  • Continue to develop the 18 month roadmap for the UK, detail milestones and quantify progress; role model diligent project planning and execution for the team
  • Drive and execute cross-functional projects beyond the UK business, e.g., on cogs reduction, sort reactivity, and business expansion; plan projects and track progress in a qualitative and quantitative manner
  • Set examples on good SQL/GBQ coding to improve skills within the team
  • Set high quality standards for the teams analytics work 
  • Monitor UK business performance and drivers closely to intervene when necessary
  • Build a great team by hiring strong talent and developing existing talent
  • Contribute innovative and strategic ideas and continue to drive impact across the organization

What You'll Need

  • A Bachelor’s degree from top-tier institution with a distinguished academic record, ideally in a quantitative field (math, economics, statistics, physics, engineering, etc.); MSc, MBA or PhD Preferred
  • 6+ years of work experience at a consulting firm, Research Institute or technology startup in an analytical and/or stakeholder-facing role
  • Team management: you have demonstrated the ability to manage and lead a team
  • Results focus: you have demonstrated ability to deliver strong results. You set ambitious objectives and goals for yourself and your team; you have attention to detail with strong quality control
  • Strong quantitative skills: you have hands on experience with manipulation and analysis of large data sets. Advanced Excel knowledge and familiarity with SQL and/or programming languages (Python preferred) is required. Ideally you also bring a distinct analytical skill that you can introduce to the team.
  • Communication skills: you communicate effectively with all levels of seniority.
  • You are intellectually curious, passionate, and have a strong work ethics
