What You'll Do

As our organization nears 20,000 employees globally, the nimble and dynamic Project Management Office manages and responds to a wide range of internal and external priorities and events. The Project Management Office owns and scopes large scale global projects or efforts within and across Corporate, Sales & Service, and Supply Chain functions. While all teams at Wayfair will continue to own change management for their specific business units, the PMO assumes ownership when this change cuts across multiple business units and a clear internal owner does not exist. Recent examples of PMO ownership include: COVID response, global vaccination efforts, Return to Office and corporate office expansion to new geographies.

As an Associate Director of PMO, you will be responsible for ensuring a structured and consistent approach to all initiatives. As Program Manager, you will own and drive the PMO project roadmap and drive the delivery of Talent initiatives. You will own communication and messaging around progress across project teams and business stakeholders. You will also ensure the team has the appropriate focus, advocating for the priorities of the cross functional partners as necessary. This role will also provide training, coaching, and guidance to the project team as they grow in their project management experience. You will ultimately help drive more efficient and effective global projects impacting the ROI to the organization. As the team leader you will be tasked with establishing criteria to guide prioritization and ensure that the team’s work is aligned with short- and long-term goals of the business. You will produce regular reporting on status updates, key milestones, and the general health of each project. Information transparency and clarity will be very important to enable swift and effective decision making.

What You’ll Need:

  • Certified PMP or 10+ years of experience in project management in a large, fast paced, multinational organization
  • 5+ years hiring and developing managers/senior managers
  • Strong track record of developing individuals both within your chain of command and cross-functionally.
  • Strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to scope and timeline
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional collaboration skills and the ability to drive towards consensus
  • High analytical capability
  • Comfort with large data sets is a must
  • Proven ability to work with diverse employee populations and evaluate varying needs
