The Role

Wayfair’s Global Carrier Platform is a team based in the EU and North America with a global responsibility: to build a best-in-class platform to support Wayfair’s demanding needs for carrier integration as it grows in order volume and expands to new geographies, providing a seamless experience to every system and team that requires any kind of interaction with the carrier world. 

You will manage a team of product managers to define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for our Global Carrier domain, building a scalable technology platform. You will own the overarching vision, driving product prioritization, requirement creation, and execution of product development working closely with Engineering, Design, and Operations teams. This role is highly strategic, requiring close partnership with many internal and external stakeholders including 100+ third party carriers,other transportation and warehousing technology teams, operations, industrial engineering and finance teams. 

Successful candidates will be entrepreneurial and creative problem solvers who are able to drive high-performing cross functional teams that bring their vision to reality. They'll also be able to dive deep into the technical details of their platform while simultaneously defining and communicating front-line vision as a key contributor within our organization. 


What You Will Do:

  • Nurture and support the vision and identity of the global carrier domain
  • Create a platform strategy for the platform and co-own the global transportation roadmap with your supply chain peers
  • Partner with senior stakeholders to define the product long-term strategy and translate it into an operational roadmap
  • Define and measure business impact, and monitor performance of initiatives and communicate performance metrics to key stakeholders
  • Leverage data to understand risks, impacts, scope and priorities of our business objectives, and enable the team to drive results 
  • Develop and maintain the overall product roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders from Engineering, Design and Operations
  • Manage, build and develop a team of junior and senior product managers
  • This position might  require occasional travel to operational sites through North America and Europe.

 

What You’ll Need

  • 7+ years of experience building high-impact products (B2B preferred) and driving large projects across a large, complex organization
  • 5+ years' experience successfully spearheading and improving teams that are highly effective both in terms of impact and team culture.
  • Passionate about scale, bias for outcomes and long term value
  • Deep understanding of business strategy and metrics
  • Ability to think and perform both tactically and strategically
  • Experience managing and influencing a global team of stakeholders in a matrix environment
  • Experience in supply chain and logistics is preferred
  • Ability to multi-task and work well within a dynamic environment
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a bias for action and ability to deal with extreme ambiguity and a rapidly changing environment.
