The Data Access & Visualization Platforms team is an integral part of how we use data at Wayfair. Our goal is to provide scalable, performant, and flexible tools through a variety of platform options to support the analytical needs of all Wayfair teams. We invest in business intelligence tools and reporting platforms, build support structures through training and documentation, and connect with thousands of users to ensure data is a part of every decision we make.

As part of the Data Platform Engineering team, we are aligned with our overall data strategies, and our tool investments are reflective of that. We believe in self-serving data and analytics, from collection, to transformations, to analysis and reporting.

The Google360 Product Manager will play an integral role in this strategy by driving the roadmap for the Google Marketing Platform across hundreds of internal, custom built, applications by identifying opportunities for us to mature our usage of the product suite, devise standards in tracking plans, and connect engineering and business teams across the company.

What You'll Do

  • Be responsible for supporting engineering and business teams in the full lifecycle of application tracking - from inception to reporting.
  • Partner closely with groups interested in standing up tracking for their applications, from initial request through publishing containers by developing tracking plans that are customized to the application structure, defining KPIs that require customizations via the Data Layer, creating the initial containers for GTM and GA accounts/properties and publishing, and working with engineering teams to QA implementations and brainstorm solutions based on non-compliant code bases (where custom implementation is necessary to achieve tracking goals).
  • Get in the weeds with Data Engineering teams to extract data from Google Analytics tables in BigQuery by creating standards for transforming nested dataset to flat tables accessible for analysts and reporting.
  • Work with business units to identify the proper reporting platforms for their needs (Google Analytics UI vs Data Studio vs IDE vs GSheet).
  • Contribute to the overall team goal of self-service analytics for all of Wayfair.
  • Support other tools within the team’s scope, as there are multiple cross-over points and areas of opportunity for collaboration.

What You'll Need

  • A strong technical understanding of web/application tracking tools (Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics, Heap, MixPanel, FullStory, etc)
  • A strong technical understanding of Tag Management Systems (TMS) (Google Tag Manager, Tealium, Ensighten, mParticle, etc)
  • Experience with SQL/cloud platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Azure SQL Data Warehouse, etc)
  • Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (Looker, Data Studio, SSAS/AtScale, Tableau, PowerBI, Qlik)
  • A good understanding of product analytics and data transformations
  • Demonstrated problem solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, identifying high value opportunities for the company
