CastleGate Forwarding (CGF) is a fast growing digital freight forwarding organization within Wayfair's broader CastleGate Logistics network. We offer a full suite of shipping services (Asia consolidation, Ocean freight, Drayage, Customs Brokerage, Cargo Insurance, etc.) that aims to provide Wayfair suppliers with turn-key Freight Forwarding services that are predictable and reliable, so they can scale their business


As the Associate Director of CGF’s Marketing & Business Incubation team, you will be responsible for establishing CastleGate Forwarding as a leading brand within the Freight Forwarding Industry and across Wayfair. You will collaborate with business unit leaders in the International Supply Chain and across the company, drive strategic decisions, and directly impact the future direction of the International Supply Chain’s fast growing business. Your work will be highly visible and cross-functional; you will regularly engage directly with senior leaders across Wayfair. The ideal candidate for this role is someone with deep Marketing expertise, proven ability to build teams from the ground, and one that enjoys tackling new challenges in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated and entrepreneurial individual to contribute in a very significant way to Wayfair’s rapid growth and leadership in eCommerce.

What You'll Do

  • Establish CastleGate Forwarding as a leading brand within the Freight Forwarding Industry and across Wayfair
  • Lead the vision definition for the team, with a clear articulation of the pillars of work and high priority initiatives.
  • Build a clear roadmap and governance model that outlines dependencies, ownership and scope for launching various Marketing and New Businesses initiatives.
  • Mature our ability to collect and understand our customer’s voice, with a clear understanding of how our offering compares to the competition.
  • Build and develop a team with deep Marketing expertise to help mature that capability within ISC.
  • Collaborate and strengthen relationships with business leaders across the organization to get support to drive the change needed (branding, positioning, as well as new business ideas)
  • Lead the implementation of multiple initiatives across Wayfair and Wayfair suppliers to establish our internal brand and value proposition, through initiatives like Brand and Value proposition definition, positioning through marketing collaterals, sales Force training, and partnership with Product and PMO teams to ensure messaging is consistent across all Wayfair channels.
  • Lead the efforts to build our brand positioning externally through PR, participation in industry-relevant events and other channels

What You'll Need:

  • 8+ years’ experience in Logistics, Consulting and/or Corporate strategy with a heavy Marketing emphasis; MBA preferred with 4+ years of post-MBA experience.
  • 3+ years’ management experience with a consistent track record of leadership and taking ownership that leads to exceptional results with the ability to lead and prioritize projects and delegate tasks appropriately.
  • Value-obsessed strategic GM-mindset: you monitor KPIs and state-of-the-business, and perform ad hoc analysis or recommendations to figure out what’s next, always keeping in mind the overarching strategy and business goals.
  • Senior presence; able to clearly and consistently work side-by-side with a broad range of senior leaders and functions to achieve objectives.
  • Very Persuasive, with strong ability to articulate complex ideas simply and relationship- building skills.
  • Experience managing and executing large projects from start to finish including project management, data gathering, problem-solving and communicating recommendations.
  • Proficiency with SQL and the ability to analyze large data sets to deliver clear, actionable insights.
