Who We Are

Are you looking to work in a highly cross-functional role and be at the intersection of all key trends impacting our topline and customer experience? Are you excited about hypothesis building, data analytics and delivering insights, both on a short-term tactical as well as mid-/long-term strategic basis? Do you want to develop skills which will help you build 360 degree e-commerce knowledge and prepare you to take on other roles in the future? Are you excited about the opportunity to work with senior leaders in developing initiatives to help grow Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) and influence business decisions through insights and narrative building?

Business Trends is looking for a Manager to strengthen our Business Trends core team which is responsible for the ongoing trends analytics and narrative building. Next to a wide range of cross-functional partners and leaders, you will work together with the Business Trends Data Engineering and Advanced Analytics teams in executing our short- and long-term trends monitoring, investigations and interventions. The mission of the Business Trends team is to drive long-term CLV by unifying the organization around Wayfair’s customer value proposition, tracking input metrics related to those and driving interventions if customers are not reacting to improvements or if we observe deviation from normal trend patterns (both short- and long-term).

What You'll Do

  • Own the weekly Trends narrative for Wayfair Canada (WFCA) and work with all members of the Canada STO leadership team in identifying short- and long-term opportunities to grow the top line / CLV.
  • Take on the responsibility for a few horizontal themes which span across WFUS B2C, B2B and CA. These will include monitoring the impact of the performance of a category vertical (e.g. Housewares) on the top line across stores, owning the relationship with our Ops team with regards to Perfect Order and other Ops input metrics, and additional captainships across stores.
  • Build your own trackers through Looker connected sheets which will help you monitor trends on WFCA and your horizontal themes across stores.
  • Contribute to the development of the monthly Trends Council narrative together with your peers and the Head of Business Trends. The monthly Trends Council is a wide group of Directors+ and the main deliverable is a high level read out informing about key themes leaders need to be aware of / reflect in their plans and trickle down to their teams.
  • Support the development of the weekly wayfair.com update for a select group of VPs and all SVPs+.
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Trends AAI team for advanced modeling needs or data queries and with Business Trends Data Engineering with regards to defining additional needs for metrics & dimensions in the Business Trends CDL.
  • Work with a wide group of stakeholders, both regularly and ad hoc, in validating data insights and building hypotheses for possible interventions in the case of trend deviations.

What You'll Need

  • 3+ years of work experience in analytical, consulting, technology, startup, or strategy roles
  • Bachelor’s degree from top-tier institution with a strong academic record in economics, math, statistics, engineering, business or related field is a plus
