Manager, Transportation Process Improvement

We’ve been busy building a best-in-class fulfillment network that allows us to delight customers by getting products closer to customers and speeding up deliveries. Wayfair’s future-state fulfillment network is expected to scale to 3x the size of today’s network by 2023. Our Transportation & Delivery Process Standardization team will be the team that enables the continuous improvement of our Transportation execution across sites, helps establish a culture of waste elimination and defect reduction across the organization, and acts as a central interface & process experts for other stakeholders across the Wayfair organization. 

Scope of role:

• Define the Operational processes required to support new business opportunities and growth, from a macro perspective and iterating to a step-by-step process map
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to ensure a common understanding and bring a mix of expertise to the design process
• Identify and document the gaps between ideal process and the current process
• Work with the Tech teams to develop the business cases required to facilitate the ideal processes
• Communicate effectively both written and verbally to ensure a consistent common understanding that allows multiple teams to work to a single vision
• Spend time with teams across the organization, especially front-line teams, to gain a deep hands-on understanding of existing process
• Developing effective governance structures to make decisions transparent and keep all stakeholders fully informed of priorities, risks and roadblocks

Role requirements:

• 20+% travel to HDO sites to observe the processes being performed in real time 
• 3-5+ years of experience in process design or process management 
• Analytical ability (eg pivot tables, lookup functions) to gather and interpret data to further develop, recommend, and implement solutions
• Bachelor's + degree 
• Preferred candidate is proficient in 5S and/or Six Sigma process management 
• Understanding of driver legislation & DOT (Department of Transportation) rules
