The Machine Learning Platforms team is at the center of Wayfair’s customer experience. We provide data scientists and machine learning engineers with libraries, tooling, clients, and systems that accelerate the end-to-end lifecycle of an ML model – all at high scale and low latency. 

What You'll Do:

  • Serve as a thought leader on how Wayfair’s data science teams can accelerate their work.
  • Lead highly cross-functional work streams across multiple organizations within Wayfair
  • Conduct discovery activities to deeply understand the needs of data scientists and machine learning engineers (MLEs)
  • Translate insights gained into actionable roadmaps and requirements for the engineering team to deliver

What You’ll Need: 

  • 7+ years building software products or infrastructure at scale with measurable impact and ideally across multiple platforms or workstreams.
  • 3+ years of experience in shipping platforms for data, ML, and/or infrastructure
  • Ability to take ownership, responsibility and act as a visible leader while being humble and inclusive
  • Passion for ML and knowledge of various ML frameworks and data science platforms
  • Ability to understand data scientist's and ML Engineer's workflows and their problems
  • Proficiency in coding and experience with data manipulation, building models, and productionizing applications
  • A Customer-centric mindset with a strong ability to conduct rigorous customer interviews and convey the "why" behind decisions
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills with a focus on long-term roadmap planning
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey ideas and tradeoffs to senior stakeholders
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to dive deep into data and produce actionable insights
  • Experience with marketing products and generating awareness through creative and compelling ways
  • Ability to dive deep into data, understand system architecture, question it with a healthy dose of skepticism, and augment team implementations with "what if" questions to improve the product.
