Senior Analyst - Supply Chain Planning

Have you ever wondered what it takes to offer 2 day delivery? Or why a sofa takes longer to arrive than an armchair? The Network Planning team is working to build the fastest, most reliable transportation network for Wayfair and our customers; whether a product ships through a parcel carrier, like FedEx/UPS, or our proprietary Wayfair Delivery Network. Senior Analysts build deep subject matter expertise as the owners of our weekly planning processes and leverage that knowledge to surface opportunities for improvement and drive those opportunities all the way to a launch. Senior Analysts engage with a broad set of cross functional partners to bring initiatives to life, including teams in forecasting, fulfillment operations, and technology.

Senior Analyst responsibilities can include:

  • Generating forward looking transportation plans to support steady-state weeks and major promotional events, surfacing possible capacity gaps and associated risk mitigations
  • Reflect on prior week performance through ownership of Weekly Business Review metrics
  • Leverage data to deep dive metrics, determine root causes, and propose solutions
  • Size business opportunities to drive prioritization discussions with leaders
  • Partner with a broad set of internal and external stakeholders to bring solutions to live, driving continuous improvement in planning processes

A strong candidate will likely bring:

  • 2 or more years of experience in an analytical role - experience in an operations planning function or transportation experience a plus
  • An undergraduate degree in an analytical field (business, engineering, statistics, or similar)
  • Experience using Excel - experience in SQL, Google BigQuery, Python, or another programming language preferred
  • Data driven problem solving skills - ability to sift through large data sets for insights and root causes
  • Entrepreneurial spirit - a passion for continuous improvement with the self-starting drive to see a project through to completion
  • Strong communication skills and a proven ability to engage with multiple stakeholders
