As the Manager of B2B Events, you will be responsible for one of the key drivers of credibility for Wayfair Professional in the marketplace.  Events are where we bring our business to life (in person!), building relationships with the customers and suppliers of the many industries we serve.

Wayfair Professional is the company’s quickly-growing B2B arm.  We provide furniture, fixtures, and equipment to professionals working in residential and commercial settings, making their jobs easier with our outstanding selection, support, and speed.  The Marketing team has tremendous capabilities and responsibilities: we own the strategy, P&L, and roadmaps for our portfolio of channels. Our job - and yours too - is to acquire every business customer in the country and bring them back again and again.

Your job is to manage Wayfair Professional’s end-to-end Events strategy to maximize the credibility of our brand and return on our spend.  You will be responsible for selecting the most strategic third-party events, developing professional displays that differentiate us in the marketplace, ensuring flawless execution by attending Events across the country and managing a rotating team of Sales representatives, and measuring results.  In addition, you will be responsible for originating a new series of first-party events for Wayfair Professional that rely on thought leadership and a virtual format to reach a broader audience.

What you’ll do

  • Develop an events calendar based on an assessment of Wayfair Professional’s customer base, the profile of potential event attendees, and expected sales
  • Create the strategy and playbook for Wayfair Professional’s first-party events, including themes, content, speakers, and marketing plan
  • Facilitate a training plan for Sales personnel who attend events
  • Manage and develop strong relationships with vendors and negotiations
  • Coordinate logistics to ensure all booth items are ordered and delivered on time, managing payments, coordinating travel and schedule for staff attending events, etc.
  • Attend events and supervise booth construction and take-down, manage Sales representatives and engage directly with customers to build relationships with the brand and acquire leads
  • Manage event expenditures and measurement of generated leads
  • Analyze post-event data to determine how to best improve our events and to deliver on KPIs
  • Support with other initiatives of the team as needed

What you’ll need

  • You are agile and results-oriented, with the ability to get things done in an entrepreneurial and cross-functional environment
  • You have experience in leading first-party events focused on thought leadership
  • You’re a great communicator and people manager (up, down, and laterally)
  • You have strong operations and execution instincts, and great attention to detail
  • You welcome the chance to step into the Sales role when interacting with customers and suppliers
  • Ability to travel frequently, up to 80% during peak times
  • Strong vendor management skills
