Senior Financial Accountant, Europe 

Who we are: 
Our Accounting & Tax team is responsible for the core financial processes and systems that run Wayfair. The Accounting team at Wayfair is tasked with delivering clean, accurate and fast financial information. We own the accuracy, availability and communication of the financial information that powers Wayfair's data-driven culture. We are recruiting a Senior Financial Accountant to support the Accounting Manager and Accounting team in executing US GAAP and Statutory accounting and reporting for the European entities. You’ll be working as part of a committed Accounting Team to ensure accurate and timely compliance reporting. 


Who you are: 
We’re looking for somebody ambitious to adapt and grow in their career, who can collaborate effectively with their immediate team and our wider Finance organisation. You will have experience working in Industry as a Senior Financial Accountant or in Big 4 audit. You will enjoy working as part of an international team and multicultural environment, and be adept in effectively communicating with a range of people and teams. 

 

What you’ll do:

  • Ensuring adherence of processes to company's policies and procedures, internal and external audit requirements and local rules and regulations;
  • Support strengthening of financial processes and controls;
  • Preparation of the monthly reconciliations for US GAAP and statutory financial reporting;
  • Providing accounting and financial analysis to senior management and other stakeholders as necessary Identification and analysis of material profit and loss accounts;
  • Bring an analytical mindset to current processes and drive forward continuous improvement;
  • Drive continuous improvement across functional areas;
  • Participate in local, regional and global projects, as required;
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes in all the different jurisdictions Wayfair operates in. 

About the person: 

  • Experience of international accounting and reporting requirements US GAAP;
  • Thorough understanding of financial control requirements, such as SOX 404 requirements;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a proven ability to operate and influence stakeholders;
  • Excellent documentation and communication skills; fluent in English, written and verbal;
  • Ability to work with tight deadlines;
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment;
  • Comfortable managing and analysing large volumes of data.
