The Global B2C Sales team is Wayfair’s pre-sale customer support and solution engine. We use data to understand customer needs and marry this with the optimal solution, ranging from a chat bot to high-touch, personalized sales support. This is a key element of how we can increasingly delight our customers by providing them with a faster and better solution to their needs, while driving further affinity for our brand. 

We are building out the European B2C Sales team and looking for a senior manager who will function as the COO for this team and be the right hand of the EU B2C Sales GM. You will be in a highly visible role, regularly interfacing with field sales, product, engineering, and marketing leadership to build excitement and gain alignment on the vision for EU B2C sales. 

What you’ll do

  • Lead the operating cadence of the business, establishing and refining KPIs that define the success of our field sales organization
  • Drive cross-functional goals, projects, and business reviews with key stakeholder teams (product, engineering, data science, marketing, category management)
  • Build the hiring plan for field sales, expanding coverage to new markets and categories, and ultimately connecting this plan to sales targets
  • Partner with the GM, B2C Sales Europe to determine the optimal long-term organizational strategy; hire and develop the team that enables us to deliver on the long-term vision for Sales

What you’ll need

  • Extensive experience in consulting or corporate strategy in a high-growth environment is a plus.
  • Track record of driving tangible results across teams in a fast paced / ambiguous environment
  • Ability to build trust and influence with senior executives, sales agents and cross functional partners 
  • Crisp, clear, tailored communication and an affinity for socializing complexity with ease to a variety of audiences
  • Fluency in Excel / analyses and ability to quickly draw insights with data is required. Experience with database queries / SQL / Tableau / stats packages, a plus
  • A tenacious, entrepreneurial and ownership mindset 
  • A strong desire to see the team around you thrive
  • A ‘get stuff done’ mentality with a highly collaborative attitude
  • An insatiable appetite to understand “why” something is the way it is (sales agent behavior, backend data infrastructure, data science models, test results, customer journeys, etc.)
