Senior Technical Product Manager, Experimentation Platform

Wayfair believes everyone should live in a home they love. Through technology and innovation, we make it possible for shoppers to quickly and easily find exactly what they want from a selection of more than 14 million items across home furnishings, décor, home improvement, housewares and more. Partnering with Engineering, Experience Design, Analytics and business teams across Wayfair, our Product teams ensure that we’re building technology that solves important customer problems in elegant, scalable, measurable ways.

One key way in which we do this is through rapid experimentation across our experiences. In this role you’ll join the Experimentation Platform Product team, whose mission is to grow the access to, options for, and impact yielded from experimentation across Wayfair’s business. We are a unique team at Wayfair, focused on building scalable, global platforms that enable our colleagues to do their best work and maximize their impact. As a Senior Product Manager on the Experimentation Platform team, you will be responsible for the requirements definition, execution and impact of projects enabling teams to easily and reliably execute a variety of experiments on Wayfair’s properties. You will deeply collaborate with fellow PMs, designers, analysts and engineers to understand their goals, both technical and non-technical, as it relates to the experiments they run; and work with an empowered team to address those needs.

What’s Special about this Role:

  • This role is best suited for someone with proven experience launching complex technical products or scalable platforms, ideally in a SaaS (software-as-a-service) or PaaS (platform-as-a-service) environment
  • Focused on experimentation at Wayfair, you’ll work with a variety of technologies and collaborate with PMs, Designers, Marketers, Analysts and Engineers across the business
  • We value driving results and not answering emails after dinner. If you like getting things done efficiently by prioritizing a short list of high impact initiatives, let’s chat!

What You'll Do

  • Launch, and support the launch of, features and initiatives meant to increase the capabilities, adoption and impact derived from Wayfair’s experimentation platform
  • Collaborate deeply with your team and fellow PMs, engineers and analysts to understand, define and execute on requirements pertaining to experiment execution
  • Analyze user and experiment data from the experimentation platform to articulate the impact of testing at Wayfair and future improvements to grow its impact
  • Evangelize experimentation best practices within the product organization and across Wayfair
  • Translate complex experimentation concepts to be approachable to non-technical audiences, as well as evaluate technical work streams based on their business value
  • Drive product discovery by understanding gaps in experimentation tooling, particularly around analysis and insights, and creating roadmaps that unlock business value

What You'll Need

  • 5+ years of experience as a technical project/product manager with demonstrated experience supporting innovative product launches
  • Strong technical background with a passion for breaking down challenging problems and drive value incrementally
  • Proven innovation experience launching and supporting data & analytics products. Familiarity with data products or enterprise SaaS products generally strongly preferred
  • Strong communication skills and experience coaching others
  • Good understanding of how quantitative and technical work aligns closely with business priorities and business value
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment where there can be degrees of ambiguity
  • Fluency in languages for data manipulation (SQL) is strongly encouraged
  • Bonus points for curiosity and an “always learning/always growing” mentality

Nice to Have

  • Previous work experience with technical analysts and/or data scientists
