Who We Are:

The Supplier Experiences group is responsible for designing, developing and operating a highly available, easy to use suite of applications for the 25K+ Suppliers whose millions of items power Wayfair.  It is critical to continue to transform this set of applications into a best in class set of products where Suppliers can manage their catalog, pricing, inventory and finances. 

The Supplier Experiences group is at the beginning of this transformation. This leader will help define the technical standards, and build the platform that all teams in the group can build upon. This person will define the architecture of our presentation tier built on React, Next.js, Components all managed via Turborepo. 

We’re looking for an individual who has helped companies succeed setting the foundation to build amazing customer facing products at this scale.  You will partner with business and product leadership to evolve our experience platform for the next five years.  

Candidates for this position may be based in Boston MA or Toronto ON and will be expected to comply with their team's hybrid work schedule requirements

What You’ll Do

  • Own Technical vision, Architecture and operations of Supplier User Experience Platform
  • Define non-functional requirements considering performance, availability, scalability & developer efficiency
  • Act as a technical lead for cross-functional multi-team projects across Wayfair
  • Document and communicate the multi-year strategic technical direction and align with appropriate stakeholders and Engineering Leadership
  • Collaboration & Partnership with Engineers, Product and Experience Design teams
  • Mentor engineers in Best Practices & Design Patterns for User Experience Platform
  • Deliver solutions to complex challenges within Supplier Experience Platform

What You’ll Need

  • 12+ years software development experience with at least 8 years in a technical leadership role driving strategy and Vision
  • Experience architecting large scale enterprise distributed systems, front-end platforms microservice architectures on Cloud (Preferably GCP)
  • Demonstrated ability to make and execute platform level technical decisions
  • Prior experience as a technical lead for software engineering teams of 25+
  • Strong communication and presentation skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other senior leaders across the organization
  • Hands on experience in JavaScript, React.js, TypeScript, Node.js, Java and GraphQL
