Job Summary:

We are seeking a diligent, bilingual, outstanding communicator to support vendor marketing efforts for our China-based suppliers. Based in Shanghai, this role will be focused on driving clear, localized email communication with our supplier base, managing our WeChat/WeCom engagement strategy, and coordinating the training calendar for the local Category Management team. You will play a key role in growing our supplier base in China and helping them find success at Wayfair. You will be an essential link to connect the Shanghai office to teams sitting in other parts of the world.

This is a highly collaborative, global-facing role. The successful candidate will be a self-starter with good common sense as their manager will be in a different time zone. They will partner regularly with colleagues in North America and Europe, and should be comfortable with occasional evening or early morning meetings. The position will also involve international travel—typically two trips to the US and one to the UK annually.

Working model: Monday - Thursday in office, Friday flexible

What You’ll Do

  • Own China-specific communications, including emails, website pop-ups, and WeChat/WeCom messages and calendar.
  • Support global communications localization, collaborating with the Shanghai-based translator or translating directly
  • Maintain WeCom group hygiene and WeChat navigation structure
  • Track and report on WeCom group and WeChat article engagement metrics
  • Maintain and expand regional supplier education content and resources
  • Explore content expansion into emerging social media platforms (e.g., RedNote, TikTok) for supplier outreach in Vietnam/Malaysia
  • Support supplier pitching and education efforts for Vietnam/Malaysia suppliers

 

What You’ll Need

  • Native fluency in Mandarin; strong proficiency in English (written and verbal)
  • Chinese citizenship (requirement for WeCom account creation)
  • Bachelor’s degree in a language, Marketing, Business, or related field
  • Proven experience in communications, preferably within a marketing context
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and projects simultaneously
  • Creative thinker with a structured approach to content planning and messaging
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with WeChat Official Accounts and/or WeCom preferred
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and supplier engagement strategies in China or Southeast Asia a plus
