The Machine Translation department at Welocalize is offering a paid internship for a motivated undergraduate or postgraduate looking to gain valuable experience in the growing field of machine translation, NLP and ML within the rapidly expanding language services sector. It is the perfect opportunity to gain valuable work experience on industry application of machine translation and other new AI-technologies and develop first-rate industry skills.
This 6-month internship enables you to gain an insight into how a busy, dynamic language services provider operates, get involved in the deployment and evaluation of MT and NLP solutions and add some impressive experience to your CV.
Your responsibilities as intern will include:
- Evaluating MT performance using proprietary tools, and supporting human direct assessment evaluations across multiple languages
- Apply your own linguistic knowledge to evaluations as applicable
- Data analysis: review findings from MT evaluations across multiple languages
- Compilation and design of reports
- Terminology review and validation
- Analysis of corpora used for MT engine customization
- Support the team in other areas like text-to-speech or speech-to-text
- Support MT program managers in day-to-day activities on supporting MT programs in production
As an intern on this team, you will report into the AI Innovation team’s Program Management team and have the opportunity to work closely with NLP and ML engineers. The team is very international and works remotely, but always here to oversee your progress and offer guidance and support on specific projects.
