MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Do you love movies, streaming media, and US pop culture? Do you have experience in social media localization? 

We are looking for a linguist to be a part of our French language team for a long-term English into Frenh-France, US based creative localization project in the media sector. They will take ownership of the incoming work on this account and will actively contribute to the success of the program. 

The client is an American provider of on-demand Internet streaming media services.

MAIN DUTIES

  • Translate and review content from English into French-France with original meaning conveyed in a manner that is readable and understandable to target audience.  
  • Location: USA, PST timezone
  • Content types: PR and marketing material, as well as movie blurbs, synopses, subtitles and character names.
  • CAT Tool: working with client proprietary tool, we will provide training and credentials.
  • Familiar with US pop culture and the entertainment industry in France.
  • Expected daily capacity: 3-4 hours per day, during PST afternoons for client coverage.

    • REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Minimum 3 years' experience translating and reviewing content in the specified subject matter.
  • Proficient in all areas of expertise: marketing, UI, website localization, PR, etc.
  • Well-versed in various translation & terminology tools.
  • Excellent communications skills in English (spoken and written). 
  • Native fluency in target language.  
  • Degree in linguistics, translation or equivalent experience.
  • Able to follow instructions, eg. character restrictions, etc. 
  • Able to communicate effectively the rationale behind their translation skills. 
  • Able to both translate and review.
  • Experience working in a multi-vendor scenario a plus.
