Wolt is looking for a Team Lead to join our Courier team based in Helsinki. The team strives towards the perfect experience for our hard-working courier partners. The Courier team is responsible for the courier application that our partners use in their everyday work. Additionally the Courier team builds internal tools for courier lifecycle management.

The team strives to both technical excellence and thoughtful design. The courier application is crafted to Wolt's partners' specific needs and the team is passionate about architecting the code to last. We currently have about 20 000 courier partners worldwide, and currently expanding to new markets almost weekly, it's more important than ever to make our partners' day to day work as enjoyable as possible and to have a working solution that is going to scale with the users increasing.

We're looking for someone to take the helm of the team. The team consists of 7 skilled engineers, and we want to bring you in to strengthen the team with your hands on development skills combined with leadership abilities. You know what it takes to develop top quality software, take care of people and achieve ambitious goals together. You are an engineer and a people leader rolled into one. You'll be a facilitator and an enabler for the team to do what they do best, by making personal development plans, hosting regular 1on1s and taking part in the future recruitment, while also being a productive developer. We estimate you to spend 60% of your time coding and 40% team leading.

In terms of your technical abilities, you can come from a frontend, mobile or full-stack background. The application is done in React Native, but skills with React and experience from mobile development combined with some other technologies will already take you far. Native experience is also relevant since the application has many native functions regarding e.g. geolocation. The team does backend development in Scala, so a full-stack combination of any of the mentioned would work great too.

The compensation will be a negotiable combination of monthly pay and Wolt stock options. The latter make it exceptionally easy to be excited about our company growing and doing well, as you'll own a piece of the pie.
