Your role within the team
- To foster a data-driven culture within the organization, leveraging data analytics allowing key stakeholders to make informed decisions based on evidence and insights rather than relying on assumptions.
- Providing strategic insights derived from data analytics, identifying trends, patterns and opportunities to support the business decision making.
- Build forward looking data strategies that strengthen or create new competitive advantages for the organization via data usage.
- Ensuring data integrity, security and compliance with relevant regulations. Establish data governance practices, including data quality standards, privacy protocols and security measures to safeguard sensitive information.
Duties and responsibilities
- Develop and execute the data analytics strategy to support the company’s objectives and initiatives ensuring alignment with business goals and market trends
- Drive advanced analytics initiatives, including predictive modelling, statistical analysis, data mining, and machine learning to generate actionable insights and enhance decision making across the business
- Establish KPIs (key performance indicators) to measure business effectiveness and drive ongoing improvement. Benchmark performance internally and across the sector utilising appropriate data sources and methods
- Work collaboratively with central teams on the collection, integration, validation and storage of structured and unstructured data from various sources ensuring data integrity and accessibility
- To identify, analyse and interpret trends for the business in complex data sets
- Design, deliver and maintain a suite of dashboards (Tableau / Power BI) to support operational, tactical and strategic information requirements. Effectively communicate data-driven insights to stakeholders at all levels enabling strategic decision making
- Implement data analytic tools and technologies to enhance the organizations data analytics capabilities allowing for scalability and efficiency
- Ensure compliance with data privacy regulations and implement robust data security measures to protect sensitive information
- Stay informed and up to date with the latest advancements in data analytics, technologies and industry best practices to allow for innovation and continuous improvement
Desired Skills and Experience
- Proven experience (7+yrs) in a leadership role overseeing data analytics functions, preferably in the CPG industry or related field
- Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics or a related field
- Strong expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, data mining and machine learning techniques
- Proficient in data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and preferably programming languages (e.g. Python, R, SQL)
- Experience with big data platforms, cloud based data analytics solutions and data warehousing
- Strong business acumen and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for business decision making
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices related to data privacy and security
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Analytical thinker with strong problem-solving skills.
